Spring 2010 Pick-up Schedule
What Can Be Picked Up:
- Leaves and Grass must be in Biodegradable Paper Bags
- Brush must be piled neatly and separately from Leaves. PLEASE NO STICKS IN BAGS
- 8' long - no larger than 6" diameter
- Avoid piling brush near utility poles and under trees, wires, or out in the street
- CLEAN WOOD ONLY
- Scrap Metal (April pickup only)
- Appliances and tires must be tagged; tags can be purchased at the Town Office
We
will also pick up other yard waste, such as grass clippings, provided biodegradable
paper bags are used. Branches must be free of roots and dirt. We do not pick up rocks, stumps, rubbish, etc. Please do not put there items out with your branches. PLEASE NO CLEAR CUTTING OF LOTS. Residents are also encouraged to dispose
of leaves and grass at our Recyling
Center, the area located across from
the
Town offices.
Please
check with Recyling Department prior to drop off.
Items
must be at roadside on the first day of scheduled pickup. In the event
the pick-up runs ahead of schedule, we will move to the next scheduled area
and return to your location before the last scheduled day of your area.
Highway Superintendent Doug Eddy asks:
- Please - make sure you put out material for Spring Cleanup before we come. If you're not sure whether we've done your street, please call our office. If we've already done your street, what you put out will remain there.
- If you use biodegradable bags for material you put out, please protect them from water if they will be out for more than a day or two. Put a tarp under them and cover them with a tarp. Otherwise the bags rot, and it's difficult for our crews to pick them up because they fall apart.
Dates:
- Area 1 - April 12 thru April 16 - South of Route 2 (including Mountain View area)
- Area 2 - April 19 thru April 23 - North of Route 2 to South of Route 7
- Area 3 - April 26 thru April 30 - North of Route 7 to Schaghticoke Town line
Monthly Brush And Yard Waste Pick-up Schedule:
- May 17 thru May 21
- June 14 thru June 18
- July 12 thru July 15
- August 9 thru August 12
- September 13 thru September 17
- October 12 thru October 15 (last pickup of the season)
