Brunswick Bicentennial

The Town of Brunswick was incorporated on March 20, 1807 and will be celebrating its Bicentennial throughout 2007. The Brunswick Bicentennial Committee and the Brunswick Historical Society invite you to join our efforts to commemorate the occasion of our Town's 200th Anniversary.

Events

These events were held to celebrate the Bicentennial:

Community Church Service
Saturday, March 10th At 2 pm - Service at Gilead Lutheran Church. This service will be conducted by Reverend Peter Suarez who will be returning to Brunswick for this special occasion. There will be some very special music including an ecumenical choir and a bell choir.
Home Heritage Days And Driving Tour Of Brunswick
Saturday, May 19 (10 am To 5 pm ) And Sunday May 20 (12 Noon To 5 pm - A map of various historic locations in Brunswick will be available for a self-guided tour and numerous venues throughout the town will be open on those days.
Dedication Of The Brunswick Veterans Memorial Park
Saturday, June 9 at 1 pm - on Route 2 just east of the new Eagle Mills Bridge. Note: if you haven't bought your inscribed brick(s) and would like your brick(s) installed in time for this event, please order it as soon as possible. We will not be able to process brick orders received after May 1st in time to be installed for the dedication. Call Warren at 274-0808 or Mary Ann at 279-3396.
Brunswick Bicentennial Fall Festival

Saturday, September 15, 2007 10:00 am - 9:30 pm - Brunswick Soccer Complex Route 2. Fun for the whole family includes:

  • Local Craft Vendors
  • Food Vendors
  • Annual Historical Society Bake Sale and Antique Quilt Raffle
  • Elks Chicken Barbeque
  • Three bands - afternoon and evening performances
  • The Cloggers dance group
  • Inflatables for children and adults
  • Pony Rides and Petting Zoo
  • Face Painting and ...

At 9:00 pm the Town celebrates its 200th Birthday with Fireworks sponsored by Warren W. Fane & Callanan Industries, Inc.
